specimen was collected in copula with a female, micropinned on the same double mount.
Recognition. This species can be distinguished from the similar
D
.
parapirirostris
by characters of the hind femur listed in the key.
Description. Body length:
1.85 mm
. Head: Frons dark brown, second row of setae slightly concave. Flagellomere 1 round, brown. Palpus of normal size, light brown. Thorax: Scutum dark brown. Scutellum dark brown, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta one-half length of posterior seta. Pleuron brown.
Costa
0.55 wing length. Halter brown. Legs light brown. Forecoxa in lateral view light brown. Foretibia with 4–5 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa dark brown. Hind coxa brown. Hind coxal lobe yellow, round, short. Posterior face of hind femur with short basal row of peglike setae; more distally with small narrow process and more rounded flap (

). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 dark brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown. Venter of abdomen gray, with few longer setae on segment 5. Male terminalia dark brown, except cercus yellow.
