From the Latin curiosus meaning inquisitive, odd, strange. Discussion. Differential diagnosis. This species resembling L. bicolor Brailovsky & Barrera ( Fig32 , 71 ) in having the antennal segments I–III black and IV bicolorous; abdominal sterna black to reddish brown; anterolateral and posterolateral margins of pronotum, and humeral angles shiny red; pronotal disk trapeziform with humeral angles expanded into a medium-sized spine directed laterally; apex of scutellum black and pronotal disk without shiny red longitudinal stripe. In L. bicolor the pro-, meso- and metapleuron are black to reddish brown with shiny red discoidal spot at each acetabulae; connexival segments III–VII and pleural abdominal segments clearly bicolorous with anterior half black and posterior half yellow; dorsal abdominal segments black and laterally dark red; and the spine of humeral angles acute. In L. curiosus sp. nov. , ( Figs. 38 , 70 ), pro-, meso- and metapleuron are entirely black to reddish brown; connexival segments III–VII and pleural abdominal margins entirely shiny red; dorsal abdominal segments entirely black; and the spine of humeral angles obtuse. In L. megaera (Burmeister) ( Figs. 33–34 , 72–73 ), each acetabulae has a red discoidal spot; apex of scutellum shiny red; pronotal disk has a completely shiny red longitudinal stripe across middle third; and humeral angles are obtuse and rounded.
