The rose chafers (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Cetoniinae) of Guinea-Bissau: an annotated checklist and new records Author Serrano, Artur R. Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BOL, TOB. Historic records: — Bubaque (BOL) ( Brivio 1958 sub Plaesiorrhina recurva F., P. recurva ab. fusca Kr. and P. recurva ab. fasciata Kr.); — Mampatá - Guilege (TOB) ( Serrano et al . 2020 ). Material examined: Mampatá—Guilege (TOB), 3.VII.1995 , 1♀ , DO, A. Serrano leg., ASC . Remarks. The species is polytypic, but the number of valid subspecies is controversial, depending on the authors ( cf. Beinhundner 2017b and Schoolmeesters 2019 ). This subspecies sometimes is treated as a valid species ( Holm 1994 ; Krajcik 2008a ; Mudge et al. 2012 ), or as a subspecies of C . ( P. ) cinctuta (Voet, 1779) ( e.g. Allard 1991 ; Camiade 2015 ; Beinhundner 2017b ). Ecological data ( e.g. abundance, habitat preference) were provided for GHA by Mudge et al. (2012) and Joly (2018) .The larvae of C . ( Plaesiorrhinella ) plana (Wiedemann, 1821) [sub Plaesiorrhina recurva plana ] was described by Donaldson (1987) . Biological and ecological data were provided for this species by Donaldson (1987) , Donaldson & van Todner (1992) and Holm & Marais (1992) . Malec & Šípek (2017) included it in their group 2 of artificial breeding conditions.
