Diagnosis.
External appearance of the new species,
Toxoides sichuanensis
, resembles mostly to the
type
species,
T. undulatus
, but this new species is clearly distinguished from the latter by the clear forewing ground pattern, distinct orbicular and reniform stigmata. The male genitalia of the two species differ in several details: in the new species, uncus is slender, socii are just slightly curved and without densely hairy basal parts, fine pointed triangular saccular process is reduced, and just its rudiment can be seen on the left valva as a minute peak. Valva has an acute process, costal margins are slightly uneven, sacculus is always straight, the shape of fultura superior is broader in the middle section and the carinal hook is basally more robust and more curved; while in the
type
species, socii have broader base and is hairy, a distinctly fine pointed triangular process is present on sacculus, valva is knife-shaped.
