Comments.
Dysdera lata
is the name giving species of the
lata
group of
Dysdera
. Apart from this species, the following are listed as members of this group by Deeleman-Reinhold & Deeleman (1988):
D. westringii
O.P.- Cambridge,
D. spinicrus
Simon
,
D. taurica
Charitonov
,
D. simoni
Deeleman-Reinhold
and
D. gemina
Deeleman- Reinhold. The species
D. lata
,
D. westringii
and
D. taurica
have often been confused in the past, and although
Řezáč
et al.
(2008)
gave a detailed redescription of
D. taurica
, the species is considered a synonym of
D. lata
in the World Spider Catalogue 2016.
Distribution.
Dysdera lata
has a remarkable, perhaps secondary distribution, from
Morocco
and
Algeria
in the West to
Greece
,
Bulgaria
,
Romania
,
Ukraine
,
Russia
,
Turkey
and
Egypt
in the East.
