Etymology
. From Latin,
tuber
, swelling, bulb, referring to the tubercle on the margin of tergite IX.
Diagnostic characters.
The new species differs from
C. nervosus
(Meigen)
in the banding pattern of the tergites. It can be distinguished from other members of the genus by the unique wing pattern and by the presence of a tubercle on tergite IX.

Coloration.
