Comments.
Synaphosus
is a relatively large genus of small spiders, with 36 accepted species mainly distributed in the Palaearctic (
WSC 2024
). Males of this genus differ from those of the closely related
Cryptodrassus
Miller, 1943
, by the presence of a translucent flange on the male palp and larger embolus, while females have strongly coiled insemination ducts. Until recently, a single species,
S. palearcticus
Ovtsharenko, Levy & Platnick, 1994
, was recorded in the Caucasus (
Armenia
,
Azerbaijan
) (
Otto 2022
).
