Three unpaired dorsal shields: the propodosomal, hysterosomal and suranal. Eyes present or absent, post ocular bodies absent. Humeral shields situated ventrolaterally, with setae c 2. Humeral callosities absent or present. Aggenital shield with one to three pairs of setae. Genital setae absent. Anogenital covers with three or four pairs of setae. Palptibial claw subequal to palptarsus. Palp tarsus with a tridentate, terminal eupathidium. Counts of setae and solenidia on palpi (from trochanter to tarsus): 0–3–2–2+1 claw+1 accessary claw–4+ 1 ω +1 subterminal spine-like eupathidium + 3 eupathidia (basally fused). Subcapitulum with two pairs of subcapitular setae ( Fan & Zhang 2005 ; Doġan et al . 2011 ). Eustigmaeus is one of the largest genera in this family and currently contains 102 species (Fan 2005; Fan & Zhang 2004 , 2005 ; Doġan 2005 ; Faraji et al . 2007; Cheng & Fan 2008 ). In Turkey , 20 species are known (Doġan 2007; Doġan et al . 2011 ). In this paper one species, Eustigmaeus varius sp. nov . , is described as new. Another species, Eustigmaeus lacuna (Summers) , originally found in U.S.A. , is newly recorded for the Turkish fauna and redescribed. In addition, 12 known species are recorded from new localities.
