Remarks.
This species was described based on males and females from
Guatemala
.
Maes
et al.
(2010)
reported this species from
Nicaragua
, based on a single specimen belonging to the USNM collection. However, the antennomere III in this specimen is distinctly longer (apparently longer than the scape) and cannot be
P. armatus
. Unfortunately, the photograph does not allow us to be sure about the identity of the specimen. Therefore, we are formally excluding
P. armatus
from the Nicaraguan fauna.
Noguera & Chemsak (1996)
reported the species from
Mexico
without further details.
