Synorthocladius lobiger
(Freeman)
Pseudorthocladius lobiger

: 201
, fig. 4c
Synorthocladius lobiger
(
Freeman)
, Freeman & Cranston 1980: 186;
Harrison 2004
Like
Bryophaenocladius conicus
, in the same paper,
Freeman (1953)
described another species,
Pseudorthocladius lobiger
. It was transferred to
Synorthocladius
by
Freeman & Cranston (1980)
and listed as such by
Harrison (2004)
. According to the original description and figure by
Freeman (1953)
, it lacks an anal point and has a tongueshaped inferior volsella; it therefore might not belong to the genus
Synorthocladius
. Nonetheless, we tentatively maintain it in the genus
Synorthocladius
, recognizing that its taxonomic status remains uncertain until the
type
specimen can be examined.
