It was transferred to Synorthocladius by Freeman & Cranston (1980) and listed as such by Harrison (2004) . According to the original description and figure by Freeman (1953) , it lacks an anal point and has a tongue­shaped inferior volsella; it therefore might not belong to the genus Synorthocladius . Nonetheless, we tentatively maintain it in the genus Synorthocladius , recognizing that its taxonomic status remains uncertain until the type specimen can be examined.
