His illustration, however, clearly shows a female as already mentioned in de Jong et al. (2000) , who suggest that it might be conspecific with A. orbiculus . The abdominal pattern of the holotype also occurs in the DNA-voucher specimen CK680 from south-western France (fig. 8A). Paracrocera manevali Séguy, 1926 : 164 . syn. nov. ♀ holotype . A study of the holotype revealed that it is in fact a female specimen, as already suspected by de Jong et al. (2000) . Nartshuk (1982) stated that females with black scutellum and wholly black abdomen belong to A. orbiculus . Paracrocera minuscula Séguy, 1934 : 27 . syn. nov. ♂ holotype . Type deposition: MNHN. The male holotype of A. minuscula was collected in Spain and, following Séguy (1934) , differs from other species by their yellow distitarsi and hyaline lower calypters.
