The taxonomy of Neotropical Brunettiina (Diptera, Psychodidae, Psychodinae, Mormiini), with descriptions of ten new species from Brazil and comments on the generic classification of the subtribe Author Bravo, Freddy text Zootaxa 2006 1134 1 28 journal article 10.5281/zenodo.171921 56a6a283-f7b9-40c7-9391-cb73c1a5db83 11755326 171921 Brunettia insularis ( Wagner, 1993 ) , comb. nov. Atrichobrunettia insularis Wagner, 1993 : 121 –122, figs. 38–43. Comments. The wings of this species show developed costal and anal areas, and the radial fork is situated closer to the medial fork. These two characteristics are typical of the species of Brunettia and, therefore, this species is not a species of Atrichobrunettia as proposed by Wagner (1993) . This species can be differentiated from the other species of Brunettia by the apex of Sc curved hooklike, R1 with sinuous base, eyes contiguous, and the apex of the aedeagus not reaching the posterior margin of the posthypandrial plate. Specimens of this species were not studied, but the original description and the original figures of Wagner (1993) are sufficient for their identification. Distribution. Tobago .
