The species is easily recognized by the simple lower mandibular margin and by the combination of erect setae on frons and tergum I and the dark gaster. The clypeal projection is triangular. For further description see Pulawski (1992) . Geographic distribution. Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania to Egypt, Greece ( Crete Island and Peloponnesus ) , Israel, Iran, Oman India and Sri Lanka.
