Korea , Japan , China , Thailand , India , Philippines , Solomon Islands , Sri Lanka , Taiwan , Israel . Host plant . Oryza sativa (cf. Esaki & Ito, 1954 ; Lee & Kwon, 1977, 1979; Wilson & Claridge, 1991 ). Remarks . This species was first recorded in Korea by Esaki & Ito (1954) who did not list any voucher specimens or examine male genitalic characters, which are essential for accurate identification. Since then, it was cited by several authors from Korea ( Ishihara, 1961 ; Lee & Kwon, 1977; Kwon et. al. 1996; Kwon & Huh, 2001 ). We did not find any Korean specimens that could be identified as this species. Therefore, the presence of this species on the Korean peninsula is uncertain and needs confirmation because it may be confused with other allied species.
