The more often,
Oncocephalus
species
live on the ground, hidden under stones or in the soil; attracted by lights. Both macro- and brachypter forms (mainly), sometimes apter. Probably the commonest species of the genus in Europe.
O. squalidus
lives often in wet zones (more or less salted) or under stones. A holomediterranean species known as far as Central Asia and Arabic peninsula; present in
Oriental
Africa.
