Ecology: —Common; in wet montane forests, often on steep slopes; 1200–3250 m . Notes: —Fronds 80–400 cm long; venation with one costal areole parallel to the costa between adjacent costules; segments falcate with serrate margins at apices; rust-colored or tan hairs on the blade surfaces and veins abaxially; awns present on costae adaxially.
