Imago (fig. 43): Wingspan 12 mm . Head and appendages pale buff, maxillary palpus <diameter of eye, labial palpus 2× diameter of eye. Thorax and tegulae pale buff. Forewing pale buff, antemedian fascia an irregular fuscous line, postmedian fascia similar but more weakly defined. Hindwing whitish. Male genitalia (fig. 76): Uncus rounded, gnathos also rounded, almost as long as uncus, valva with a pointed structure arising shortly before apex, base of vinculum with clusters of specialised setae, one of these which is broad is curled immediately before the tip. Aedeagus simple with a single cornutus bearing a central lateral protrusion. Female genitalia: not examined. Diagnosis: This species is characterised by the distinct genitalia of the male, with rounded uncus and saccus and a slender pre-apical spine on the valva. Life history: not known. Derivation; from the captor who obtained the type series. Distribution: Eritrea . Type material: Holotype Eritrea , Cardiai 17.xi.1905 N. Beccari NHMUK 013698246. Four paratypes , same data as holotype, NHMUK 013698246-013698250. one with BM Pyralidae Genitalia slide No. 21699 . Note: the type series comprises worn specimens with little in the way of features to define it.
