Diagnosis.
This species is distinguished from
bogiessa
by its clypeus being shorter than antennal segment I and differs from the other two new species by the characters given in the key.
Description.
Apterous male, colouration of body black, legs and antennae dark brown, median irregular bulbous elevations developed on thorax and abdomen, surface with punctures and irregular rugosities, venter partly smooth.
Head
: Slightly wider than long (17.5/16); clypeus shorter than antennal segment I, its apex blunt and not projecting over laterally expanded genae; antenniferous lobes short with subacute apices; antennae 1.45x as long as width of head (25.5/17.5), segment I bent at base and thickest, II more slender as long as I, III thinnest and longest, IV fusiform; length of antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 5.5/5.5/8/6.5; eyes granulate inserted in head; postocular lobes granular at base then straight converging to constricted collar; vertex with three longitudinal carinae and ovate lateral depressions. Rostrum arising from a slit-like atrium, as long as head, lateral margins of rostral groove carinate.
Pronotum
: Pro-, meso-, and metanota and mtg I+II fused but separated by transverse grooves or sutures. About
5x
as wide as long (43/9); anterolateral angles more rounded and carinate and not produced over lateral projections of ring-like collar from which separated by a deep incisures; lateral margins concave and carinate, posterolaterally raised and granulate, lower edge hardly visible from above; disk anteriorly with bilobate granulate elevation with median longitudinal groove, surface posteriorly depressed, lateral areas rugose.
Mesonotum
: About
9x
as wide as long (43/5) consisting of round granulate median elevation this fused to metanotal elevation and extending to posterior margin of latter; lateral transverse sclerites anteriorly smooth and rugose along carinate posterior margins, raised to granulate ovate lobes laterally.
Mtg I+II:
Median granulate elevation of mtgI consisting of 2 (1+1) large transverse ovate humps these fused to smaller median granulate hump of mtg II, fusion line marked by a transverse furrow, lateral portions deeply depressed and smooth.
Abdomen:
Tergal plate with a large rounded granular elevation this highest on mtg IV; lateral parts deeply punctured and rugose; pivot-like projection arising medially from tergite VII is directed posteriorly but not reaching the sloping mtg V–VI; structure of deltg II–VII and position of spiracles as in
secunda
n. sp.
Venter:
Surface of median parts of meso- and metasterna, middle of sternites II–VII smooth and glabrous; prosternum, pleura, lateral parts and vltg of sternites II–VII granulate and rugose; sternite VII with a smooth ovate median plate, its apex finely punctured (
Fig. 4
).
Legs:
Slender and unarmed as in
secunda
n. sp.
Genitalic structures:
Pygophore declivous posteriorly, surface granular; parameres as figs. 15–17.
