Diagnosis.
Currently known by a single male specimen. Most closely related to
N. kyushuensis
(Yasunaga)
(

), from which
N. yonanus
n. sp.
can be distinguished by its ovoid body (
Fig. 5A
); apical 3/4 of clypeus darkened (
Fig. 5B
); antennal segment II slightly longer than metafemur; labium as long as basal width of pronotum; posterior margin of pronotum, scutellum and clavus darkened (
Fig. 5A
); apical protuberances of parameres more developed (
Fig. 10A–D
); and vesical spiculum tapered apically (

Description.
Holotype
male
: Body oval (
Fig. 5A
); dorsum pale brown (probably greenish when alive), with uniformly distributed, pale, simple, reclining setae. Head shining; vertex narrow, with basal transverse carina that is as thick as pronotal collar; apical 3/4 of clypeus darkened (
Fig. 5B
). Antenna pale brown; apex of segment II, whole segments III and IV brown; segment II slightly longer than metafemur; segment III longer than head width across eyes. Labium shiny pale brown, reaching but not exceeding apex of metacoxa. Pronotum shining, darkened posteriorly; scutellum dark brown; pleura including scent efferent system pale brown. Hemelytra somewhat matte; clavus darkened; apical part of corium semi-circularly darkened; membrane pale smoky brown. All coxae and legs pale brown; metafemur with two brown rings that are obliterated ventrally; tibial spines brown; apex of each tarsomere III darkened. Ventral side of abdomen uniformly pale brown.

Collection record suggests that this new species appears earliest (February) among the Japanese congeners. No other information is available on the biology.
