Distribution:
Argentina
:
Tucuman
;
Brazil
:
Paraná
,
Rio Grande do Sul
;
Uruguai
:
Soriano
.
New record for the
Paraná State
.
Comments:
This species seems also to be more restricted to southern South America, just like
S. marginoides
. At first, we could interpret that this is the first record of the species for a forested area. However, we cannot dismiss the possibility that the records for
Tucumán
,
Argentina
, and Santo Domingo de
Soriano
(Villa
Soriano
),
Uruguay
(
Emsley 1970
) corresponds to specimens collected in forested areas, respectively in the Yungas and in forests associated to the Negro and
Uruguay
rivers.
Bioacoustics:
Sound not recorded.
