The position of the genus within the

is still unclear (

). The species appears not to be broadly distributed within South American forests, considering its northernmost record (
Minas Gerais State

).
Bioacoustics
(

): Males produce sequences of echemes, each one composed by four to seven echemes. Each echeme is composed by 25 to 35 syllables that are produced with increasing intensity.

: 7 ± 1.7 kHz.
