Nine new species of the subgenus Stegana (Oxyphortica) from the Oriental region, with morphological and molecular evidence based on Chinese species (Diptera: Drosophilidae) Author Wang, Nannan Author Zhang, Yuan Author Cheng, Yu Author Chen, Hongwei text Journal of Natural History 2017 2017-09-14 51 33 - 34 1943 1970 http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/00222933.2017.1360960 journal article 10.1080/00222933.2017.1360960 1464-5262 5182851 2FA403F6-5535-40A4-9FD0-ADB9913EDE83 Stegana ( Oxyphortica ) dainuo Wang and Chen , sp. nov. (Figures 2(g), 4(c), 5(h) and 9). Diagnosis This species is related to S . ( O .) adentata Toda and Peng, 1992 from southern China in the shape of aedeagus in ventral view, but can be distinguished by having the aedeagus dorsally not protruded in lateral view ( Figure 9 (d)). In S. adentata : aedeagus protruded posterodorsally ( Toda and Peng 1992 ; figures 23 and 24). The 2.7% interspecific genetic distance to S . ( O ). laohlie sp. nov. is one of the smallest interspecific distances ascertained within this subgenus; see under that species. Description Clypeus dark brown to black. Palpus yellowish brown. Mesoscutum yellowish brown, brown to dark brown posteriomedially, with two pairs of thin, indistinct, brown longitudinal stripes sublaterally ( Figure 4 (c)). Scutellum mostly dark brown, yellow along margin, sometimes only at tip ( Figure 4 (c)). Katepisternum yellow. Wing yellow, brown anterodistally (Figure 2(g)). Abdominal tergites: 1st yellow; 2nd yellow medially, dark brown along posterior and lateral margins; 3rd to 5th mostly brownish to dark brown, yellow along anterior margins; 6th yellow medially, dark laterally ( Figure 5 (h)). Male terminalia: Epandrium nearly rectangular on posterolateral corners, with dense pubescence and setae ( Figure 9 (a)). Cercus lacking pubescence ( Figure 9 (a)). Surstylus small, lobe-shaped, only with several setae basally and apically ( Figure 9 (b)). Parameres absent ( Figure 9 (c, d)). Aedeagus sclerotized and bare dorsally, pubescent ventrally, apically slightly curved dorsad in lateral view, expanded outward on both sides of peristome ( Figure 9 (c, d)). Gonopods broadened, somewhat to hood-shaped ( Figure 9 (c, d)). Measurements Figure 9. Stegana (Oxyphortica) dainuo Wang and Chen , sp. nov. , male terminalia. (a) epandrium, cercus and surstylus (lateral view); (b) surstylus (ventral view); (c, d) hypandrium, aedeagus and aedeagal apodeme (ventral and lateral views); (e) gonopods. Scale lines = 0.1 mm.
