SPECIES ORIGINALLY INCLUDED. —
Margarosmilia zieteni
(Klipstein, 1843)
,
M. confluens
(Münster, 1841)
as a variation of
M. zieteni
,
M. richtofeni
Volz, 1896
,
M. hintzei
Volz, 1896
,
M. septanectens
(Loretz, 1875)
.
TYPE
SPECIES. —
Montlivaltia confluens
Münster, 1841
by subsequent designation of
Diener (1921)
.
In assumed infraction with the international code of zoological nomenclature,
Cuif (1975)
invoked in consistence with usage that preference should be accorded to
M. zieteni
and he designated a “
type
specimen” (no. 4462). Despite of this unsatisfactory nomenclatural situation, and as a necessity, we rely on the descriptions of
Cuif (1975)
for the genus
Margarosmilia
.
