( Plate 1D , Figs. 25–32 ) Length. Male 11.00 mm. (estimated, approximate ¼ of apex of forewings missing); female unknown. External morphology. Large, robust species. General color black except for flavous crown and clypeus ( Plate1 ID). Head large, nearly as wide as pronotum, anterior margin rounded; crown broad, about as wide as transocular width, slightly produce distally, lateral margins convergent basally, disk slightly depressed; eyes large, bulbous, occupying about 2/3 of entire dorsal area of head; pronotum moderately large, median length slightly less than median length of crown, surface bullated; mesonotum large, median length about twice median length of pronotum; forewings long, broad, 3 anteapical cells present, outer one closed, clypeus long, lateral margins convex, with very faint median longitudinal carina; clypellus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, narrow in basal half, expanded in apical half. Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view with distal half broad, caudal margin broadly rounded with small lobe and tuft of short setae ( Fig. 25 ); right subgenital plate long and broad, setaceous in distal half ( Fig. 26 ); style very long, nearly twice as long as aedeagus, robust with 2 short, subapical spines ( Figs. 27, 28 ); aedeagus short, tubular, sinuate in lateral view, apical ¼ narrowed, curved laterally, 4 short, curved setae subapically, gonopore near middle of shaft ( Figs. 29, 30 ); connective robust, T-shaped, stem long ( Fig. 31 ); dorsal connective long, narrow ( Fig. 32 ). Material examined. Holotype male. FRENCH GUIANA : Amazon Nature Lodge , 30 km . SE. Roura on Kew Rd. , 10–18 IV 2007 , D. G. Hall & J.E. Eger Coll. ( NMNH ). Etymology. The name is descriptive for the robust styles. Remarks. This species has similar genitalia features to B. elongata and can be separated by the very long, robust style with subapical spines ( Figs. 27, 28 ) and absence of a long curved spine on the aedeagus that is present in elongata (Figs. 44, 45).
