Sowerby III (1916: 69), Pilsbry & Bequaert (1927: 186) , Brown (1980 : 52, 1994: 61) and Berthold (1991: 246) , who all (except Sowerby, who placed it in Lanistes subg. Leroya ) placed it in Lanistes s. str .
