The
♂
type
specimen illustrated by van der
Weele (1909)
, deposited in the
Budapest
Museum, was destroyed (Sziraki, pers. com.). The original description by van der
Weele (1909)
indicates that it is indeed a species belonging to the genus
Disparomitus
,
but it is too inadequate to allow an accutate interpretation of its validity.
According to
Tjeder & Hansson (1992)
, the four specimens identified as
Disparomitus horvathi
by
Handschin & Markl (1955)
belong to
Brevibarbis angolana
Tjeder & Hansson, 1992
(three specimens) and to
Disparomitus transvaliensis
(one specimen). No other specimens that can be determined as
D. horvathi
have been found.
