( Fig. 13 ) Description. Female. Dorsal coloration. Head black with tylus, antenniferous tubercle, space close to eyes and discoidal spot at midline of vertex yellow; preocular space black; postocular space yellow with upper border black; antennal segment I black, II–III black with basal ring yellow and IV black with subbasal ring yellow; pronotum dark brown with bluish green reflections; upper border of collar and anterior half of anterolateral borders yellow; scutellum dark brown with bluish green reflections and apex yellow; clavus and corium dark brown with bluish green reflections; claval and corial veins, reddish brown; hemelytral membrane pale brown with basal angle darker; connexival segments III–VII almost black, with some yellow reflections. Ventral coloration. Head including the buccula pale yellow with two narrow lateral pale brown stripes close to eyes; rostral segments I–II dark castaneous, III–IV pale castaneous; pro-, meso-, and metasternum pale yellow; pro-, meso-, and metapleuron pale yellow with a shiny dark brown longitudinal stripe running on outer face of sternum and covering the pro-, meso-, and metaacetabulae; anterior and posterior lobes of metathoracic peritreme yellow; coxae yellow with upper margin shiny brown; trochanters, femora, tibiae and tarsi dark reddish castaneous with spines black; abdominal sterna and genital plates pale yellow; pleural margins yellow, with upper borders black, leaving a narrow yellow stripe parallel to anterior margins of sternites. Structure. Rostrum reaching anterior border of abdominal sternite III; humeral angles with acute spine directed backward; posterolateral borders of pronotum with four, short, stout spines; hind femora are not incrassate. Body length 18.30; head length 1.98; head width across eyes 2.66; interocular distance 1.00; preocular distance 0.92; interocellar distance 0.43; antennal segments: I 4.15, II 4.03, III 2.98, IV 5.78; rostral segments: I 1.50, II 1.52, III 1.57, IV 1.15; pronotum: total length 3.28; maximum width across humeral angles including the spine 5.33; scutellum: length 2.41, width 1.92. Type material. HOLOTYPE female: BRAZIL : Rondonia , 62 km SE Ariquemes , 7–18-XI-1995 , W. F. Hanson ( UNAM ). Discussion. This species is included in the “ thoracicus ” group and is distinguished by having the head, thorax, abdominal sterna and genital plates almost entirely pale yellow; the connexival segments III–VII black with a narrow vertical yellow stripe parallel to anterior margin of sternites; and pronotal disk dark brown with bluish green reflections and only anterior border of collar and anterior half of anterolateral borders yellow. It resembles P. ambiguus in having the hind femora unicolored, pronotal calli black, abdominal sterna III–VII pale yellow to pale yellowish orange, dorsal abdominal segments III–IV and basal half of V black and apical half of V and VI–VII shiny orange (posterior margin of VII black). In P. graziae sp. nov. , the thorax is yellow with shiny dark brown longitudinal stripe running across outer face of sternum and covered pro-, meso-, and meta-acetabulae; the connexival segments III–VII black with narrow vertical yellow stripe parallel to anterior margin of sternites; and anterior and posterior lobes of metathoracic peritreme pale yellow. In P. ambiguus the thorax is reddish orange with bluish green reflections; the connexival segments III–VII pale yellowish orange; and anterior and posterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme black. Distribution. Known only from Brazil Etymology. This species is named in honor of Dra. Jocelia Grazia, distinguished Brazilian hemipterist, friend for many years and leading worker on Pentatomidae with several seminal papers.
