The species is widely distributed in the Western Palaearctic region (

) and recorded from the Palaearctic part of
China

); introduced from Europe to

).
Samples of
P. septemtrionalis
from Europe (
Belgorod Prov.
,
Russia
) have been examined. Females have first tergite granulate and with a pair of strong basolateral teeth, and the third tergite with anteromedian longitudinal keel.
