Relation to host:
The mites are vagrant on the undersurface of leaves, no visible damage symptom.
Note:
This species is similar to
Colopodacus insulanaus
Huang & Wang, 2003
, but can be differentiated by the prodorsal shield design with median and admedian lines complete and the tarsal empodium is 4-rayed. In
C. insulanaus
, the shield design has a median line and admedian lines on the basal 1/5 to basal 4/5, and the tarsal empodium is 7-rayed.
Etymology:
The species name is derived from the generic name of the host plant.
