Distribution:
Palaearctic species. Widely distributed in the north part of Eurasia from western Europe to the Far east, from forest-tundra zone to Transcaucasia, the mountains of Central Asia and northern
Mongolia
(
Panfilov 1957
).
Remarks:
In
Azerbaijan
it is found in foothill steppes and gardens, low mountain open oak-ash forests, montane deforested areas, covered by meadow vegetation, and mountain steppes in The Lesser Caucasus (
Aliev 1984
). In Talysh occurs in mountain steppes up to
2000 m
. Nest underground.
