, introduced into Europe in the first half of the last century, was recently found in the Rio Cuga basin in the northwestern part of the island, representing the
first record for
Sardinia
(
Fig. 2
). The population is characterized by only fissiparous individuals. At the same sampling site of these
G. tigrina
animals specimens of
S. mediterranea
were also found (
Fig. 2
).
