Conservation status:

Endangered (

).
Tabernaemontana riverae
is restricted to a few known localities in the states of
Oaxaca
and
Veracruz
(
Fig. 6b
).
The area
covered, according to its
EOO
of
2,023 km
2
and AOO of
40 km
2
, is less than 1% of the area of
Mexico
(
Table 3
)
; its populations are scarce, and grazing and building activities may significantly reduce the number of individuals in the future, mainly in
Veracruz
, which has significant deforestation rates (
Pérez

. 2005
). We suggest the category of endangered for this species.

(vs. slightly infundibuliform with upper tube 0.3–0.65 ×

), its sepals
