Description of adult
(fig. 15). Wingspan
10mm
. Head whitish; labial palpus terminal segment longer than second; second segment rough scaled beneath; antenna pale yellowish brown. Thorax whitish.
Forewing base fuscous; antemedian fascia white; median zone lightly scattered with brownish scales, strongly edged inwardly with a row of dark brown scales; first strigula white, weakly edged on inner side with fuscous; second strigula lower half leaden, edged fuscous on both sides; terminal area yellow; terminal line brownish; cilia with a row of fuscous scales; tornal spot large, silver grey.
Hindwing base brown; subbasal fascia ill-defined, white; antemedian fascia an irregular diffuse fuscous line; median zone reduced, scattered with a few dark brown scales; a dark brown spot on costa just beyond halfway; double submarginal line; five eye-spots more or less confluent, each with a small silver grey stud and a few ochreous scales towards termen.
Tympanal organs
(fig. 41): Venulae secundae divergent, bent outwards at posterior end, venula media about half length of venulae secundae. Tympanum with rounded tapering lobes at anterior end.

Diagnosis.
Distinguished by its small size, confluent eye-spots and double submarginal line of the hindwing, produced to form further marks on costa.
