New records and within-species variability of Iberian tardigrades (Tardigrada), with comments on the species from the Echiniscus blumi-canadensis series Author Guil, Noemí text Zootaxa 2008 1757 1 30 journal article 10.5281/zenodo.181845 29cad3d2-5685-4e65-9690-3604790334f6 1175-5326 181845 Isohypsibius prosostomus (Thulin 1928) I have found 92 specimens of this species in LF, MR and LR samples. Usually, they showed smooth cuticle, but all specimens from one LF population had weak granulation over the body surface. Three roundshaped macroplacoids and microplacoid were present within the pharyngeal bulb. Embryonated eggs (buccalpharyngeal apparatus visible) were found within an old cuticle in one of the LF samples. Body size ranged from 330 to 704 μm, mean 510 μm (SD 88). The species has been cited for Europe and Asia. In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for Spain ( Maucci & Durante Pasa 1984 ; Maucci 1991 ) and Portugal ( Da Cunha 1948 ; Fontoura 1982 ; Maucci & Durante Pasa 1984 , 1985 ). Isohypsibius prosostomus appeared at 17 sampling points (Table 3).
