New records and within-species variability of Iberian tardigrades (Tardigrada), with comments on the species from the Echiniscus blumi-canadensis series

Isohypsibius prosostomus
(Thulin 1928)
I have found
92 specimens
of this species in LF, MR and LR samples. Usually, they showed smooth cuticle, but all specimens from one LF population had weak granulation over the body surface. Three roundshaped macroplacoids and microplacoid were present within the pharyngeal bulb. Embryonated eggs (buccalpharyngeal apparatus visible) were found within an old cuticle in one of the LF samples. Body size ranged from 330 to 704 μm, mean 510 μm (SD 88). The species has been cited for Europe and Asia. In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for
