The nearest neighbour is a Nearctic so far unnamed Coleophora species , with a 3.21 % divergence The barcodes of C. texanella exhibit 1.83 % maximum intraspecific variation (n=194). There are no barcodes for Moroccan specimens. Distribution. Species introduced from North America, known from Southern France, Spain (Mallorca), Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece (Zakynthos, Peloponnese, Rhodes, Crete) ( Baldizzone, 2019 ). New to Morocco and Africa .
