Comparative notes.
The new species can be separated from
T. sinensis
by the smaller size (
2.44 mm
), dorsal surface of the body covered with short setae, the simple, subcylindrical antennomeres IX and XI, the less prominent apicolateral margins of maxillary palpomeres II, and the different aedeagal structures.
Tmesiphodimerus sinensis
is greater in size (
2.69–2.77 mm
), the dorsal surface of the body is covered with longer hair, the antennomeres IX and XI each has a disc-shaped projection, and the maxillary palpomeres II is more prominent at apicolateral margins.
Distribution.
West
Malaysia
: Perak.
Biology.
The single adult was collected in an evergreen rain forest.
Etymology.
The new species is named after the country where the
type
locality is located.
