(Plate 6, Fig. 8 ; gen. fig. 42) Holotype . Male, [ Indonesia ] Sumatra, Dolok Merangir, 3.IX.1980 , leg. Dr. Diehl, slide No.: LGN 2023 (coll. HNHM ). Diagnosis . The new species is a twin species of M. apiensis with easily recognisable external and genital features which are as follows: The forewing ground colour of M. dolokmerangiri is somewhat paler with more brownish shine ( M. apiensis is more greyish); the forewing patches of the new species are more blurred, except the large one at the ventral margin, which is larger and more sharply defined than in M. apiensis . In the male genitalia, the new species (gen. fig. 42) has, compared with M. apiensis (gen. fig. 41), slighly narrower valva, fully truncate harpe (that of M. apiensis has short, pointed apical process arising at distal margin) and much longer basal costal process. The aedeagus of the two species are rather similar, but the short coecum penis is quadrangular in the new species, and rounded in M. apiensis . Female unknown.
