This species is very different in the body and genitalia morphology from the other congeners like
P. m u s c u l u s

P. opulentus

. The differences are summarized in
Table 2
. Based on these differences, it might be better to place
P. deficiens
in a genus, separate from
Pachylomalus
. However, with only a limited material in hand, this problem can not be solved at present.
