Scales: C , D , J , K = 0.2 mm; L = 0.1 mm; rest, 0.5 mm. Redescription. Body black. Antennae, elytra and legs testaceous to black. Maxillae a little lighter. Length [average] male, 4.7 mm ; female, 4.7 mm . Male . Head ( Fig. 17A ) widest at temples or eyes. Disc punctate, not pubescent. Clypeus subrectangular, protruding beyond anterior margin of supra-antennal ridges, a little longer than 1/4 head length, depressed in anterior part, surface sparingly punctate; anterior margin broadly emarginate, with denticle at either end. Epistomal suture with lateral portions incurved and running posteriorly a little beyond level of anterior margin of eyes. Vertex slightly convex but flat anteriorly, posterior part poorly limited and continuous with neck in median; midlongitudinal suture feeble, paralateral sutures extending anteriorly but not touching level of posterior margin of eyes. Eyes with fine facets, lightly convex, a little shorter than temples. Temples rounded and dilated. Occipital suture with middle portion absent; nuchal ridge present but discontinuous in middle, dorsal basal ridge present. Mandible ( Fig. 17C ) stout, slightly curved; two denticles on inner edge near middle and near apex each. Antenna ( type I) shorter than head and pronotum together, with apical antennomere shorter than two preceding together. Pronotum transverse, broadest at near anterior 1/3, obviously wider than head. Disc punctate and 3-sulcate (as Fig. 1H ), median sulcus and two slightly curved paramedial sulci deep; two paralateral depressions shallow; lateral margin even, only weakly crenulate at posterolateral angles; posterolateral angles not prominent. Elytra punctate and rugose, lateral longitudinal ridge absent. Abdomen coriaceous and pubescent, broadest at segment V or VI. Sternite VII ( Fig. 17E ) with posterior margin straight, adorned with two denticles near middle a little behind posterior margin. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 17F ) produced in middle of posterior margin forming narrow median lobe, apex of which emarginate and with fine transverse carina a little behind; at base of median lobe with two elevated denticles directed backward. Tergite IX ( Fig. 17H ) with “ventral strut” ( Naomi 1989: 726 , 728) broadened, flattened and thickened. Tergite X ( Fig. 17J ) longer than wide, posterior margin weakly and narrowly emarginate in middle, with two lines of setae on haired posterior part. Aedeagus ( Figs. 17M–P ). Median lobe oblong-ovoid, weakly bulbous at base, obviously constricted from middle and narrowing toward apex; with membranous structures in apical part of median lobe; apical orifice small; apico-medial hook fishhook-shaped in lateral view, diverging at base and bent at near middle, with apical tip pointed; dorsal membranous area not covering all dorsum and not across length of median lobe. Paramere arm-like, broadened in dorsal view, with seta on apical 1/3, with furrow on basal arm. Female . Head ( Fig. 17B ) subtriangular; clypeus with lateral portions of epistomal suture not incurved at posterior; vertex posterior part well-limited and separated from neck by occipital suture; mid-longitudinal suture feeble; paralateral sutures running forward to level of posterior margin of eyes; eyes longer than temples, convex and protruding laterally; occipital suture with median portion present and obvious. Mandible ( Fig. 17D ) slender and less curved, with transverse carina across middle of dorsal surface. Abdominal sternite VII without denticles behind posterior margin. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 17G ) with middle portion of posterior margin shortly and gradually produced backward and deflexed in ventral view. Tergite IX ( Fig. 17I ) without “ventral strut”, but anterior margin somewhat serrate, anterior to tergite IX with separate transverse ventral sclerite, and connected with tergite IX by membrane. Tergite X ( Fig. 17K ) scutiform, with anterior margin broadly rounded in middle, with posterior margin truncate. Spermatheca ( Fig. 17L ) ʋ- shaped, constricted and bended at middle, basal portion slightly inflated, and apex rounded. Distribution. China ( Beijing , Gansu , Sichuan ); Pakistan ; India .
