Remarks
. This species was reported under this name in
Day & Hutchings (1979)
in reference to
Kott (1951)
record of
E
.
denticulata
and based on the synonymization of both species by
Hartman (1944)
. Both
E. filamentosa
and
E. denticulata
are, current, valid species (
Fauchald 1992
).
Eunice filamentosa
was originally described from the West Indies. It appears to be restricted to the Grand Caribbean Region despite being widely reported from different places around the globe (
Carrera-Parra & Salazar-Vallejo 2011
). We therefore suggest that this species does not occur in Australian waters.
