This species is the earliest described of this group and of the entire genus from China ( Holotype in Fig. 26 ). It seems rather common in the Yulongshan area in north Yunnan , since I have seen several specimens collected in different moments by different expeditions . Description. Habitus as in Fig. 10 . The combination of characters allowing to distinguish this species are: length 10.1–12.3 mm ; integuments metallic green; body rather convex; legs and antennae dark brown, of medium length; head broad, with mandibles almost as long as the rest of the head; eyes well-developed and convex; pronotum anteriorly wide, then markedly constricted and sinuate towards the base; basal angles almost square; elytra very broad, oval, widest almost in the middle, with striae well marked; shoulders rounded, without a tooth. Median lobe of aedeagus with apical portion almost as long as basal portion; in lateral view straight before apex, in dorsal view very broad and asymmetrical, without tooth but angulate on the left side ( Fig. 37 ).
