Etymology
. From the Latin
cornutus
meaning horned and referring to the horn-like setae at the sides of the male ventrite 7.
Diagnosis
. The breadth of the elytra and form of the genitalia together with the male ventrite 7 setae will distinguish this species. The closeness of the metacoxae resembles members of the genus
Storichrica
Johnson, but other features such as the shape of the mentum and the more rounded pronotum and elytra quickly separate it.
