Use.
Stem
: Rhizome used as a rubefacient; yields arrowroot.
Notes.
The rhizome, rich in starch, serves as a food for invalids. It is also used as an emollient, for diseases of the urinary tract, and for bowel complaints (
Perry 1980
).
