Distribution and habitat.
Loxopholis osvaldoi
is endemic to southern Brazilian
Amazonia
, distributed between the Xingu River and Purus river system (
Fig. 13
). It is known from the states of
Pará
,
Amazonas
,
Rondônia
, and
Mato Grosso
.
Loxopholis
is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits primary and secondary terra firme forests, where it is found among leaf litter (Ávila-Pires 1995; Kawashita-Ribeiro
et al.
2011; Waldez
et al.
2013).
