Diagnosis
. Second funicular segment subquadrate, incomplete anterior vein track present in hindwing, and posterior extension of dorsal lamina triangular.
Comments.
Trichogramma atropos
and
T. clotho
Pinto, 1999
are the only two species of the subgenus
Vanlius
recorded in South America. The indistinct microsculpture on the thorax and the subquadrate second funicular segment, which is slightly longer than wide, are the main characters that separate this species from
T. clotho
