Barbaxonella angulata
(K. Viets, 1955)
Barbaxonella pilosa
Angelier, Decamps & Rey, 1963: 480
. Nov. syn.
Material examined:
MNHN
Paris, Tarn CØret (?), uncertain sites, (red inscription, only numbers): 72, 1/0/0; 76, 1/0/0; 83, 1/0/0; 100, 0/1/0; 128, 0/5/0; 160, 0/1/0; 161, 2/0/0; 196, 1/3/0; (14 further, unstudied specimens numbered 95, 107, 141, 151, 152, 157, 177, 186).
Discussion: Short time after the first description of
B. pilosa
,
Gledhill (1964)
discovered that the species described as
Axonopsalbia angulata
K.Viets,
1955
in reality was a representative of the genus
Barbaxonella
and gave the first description of a male of this species.
Barbaxonella pilosa
, in the original description compared only with
B. ovalis
Lundblad, 1954
, was not treated again since then. A revision of
30 syntypes
recently discovered at
MNHN
Paris (for details concerning the material see discussion of
Atractides phreaticus
) does not reveal any remarkable differences to
B. angulata
of which
B. pilosa
is consequently a junior synonym. In
France
, it is known exclusively from the seven sites in the Cevennes published by
Angelier et al. (1963)
.
