Description. Head. Black, frons and vertex flat, quadrate, densely and uniformly punctate, covered with dense pubescence; genae deeply rugose, apex shallow but pointing forward. Anterior part of head slightly narrowed. Antennal sockets, flat and widely spaced. Antennae dark-brown, sparsely covered with fine pubescence; scape densely and coarsely punctate and pubescent; antennomere III flattened, wider at its apex, covered by fine pubescence, equivalent in length to other antennomeres. Thorax. Pronotum black, quadrate, densely and deeply punctate, entirely covered with long setae, apical part displaying a fringe of short whitish setae. Scutellum black, surface micro-sculptured, distinct punctation lacking. Prosternum, metasternum, and metacoxae finely punctate, with long setae. Fore legs inserted on first third of thorax. Elytra. Black, bearing two well-defined, extended yellowish spots; surface uniformly and finely punctate; apex slightly divergent and rounded. FIGURE 2. Holotype male of Capezoum tankwakarooensis . Integument black, finely punctate covered with long yellowish setae. First sternite elongate, as long as other sternites combined. Aedeagus : Male terminalia ( Fig. 2 E, F ): Tegmen length about 1.2 mm ; lateral lobes stout, narrower apically, forming a 45° angle, apex finely haired bearing two long setae. Median lobes about 1 mm , wider at apex, shape very similar to a horse hoof. Measurements. HOLOTYPE : Body length: 9; antennal length: 9.1; scape length: 0.8; head length: 1.1; head width: 1.6; pronotal length: 1.6; pronotal width: 1.5; elytral length: 5.7; elytral width: 0.9. PARATYPE : 1♂South Africa , Cape Province , Pofadder , 29.05 S / 19.24 E , 25. / 26/II/1996 , H. Hölzel , M. W. Mansell u. P. Ohm leg. [ K. Adlbauer Coll. ] Etymology. The species name refers to the ecoregion “Tankwa Karoo” in which the specimens were collected. Distribution. Tankwa Karoo ecosystem, Northern Cape , South Africa ( Fig. 1 ). But, possibly also present in southern Namibia which, being geographically very close, shares the same ecosystem.
