Chorotype.
A strict Sardinian endemic, limited to the north-west of the island; it has only been found between Alghero and Capo
Caccia
(

). Affinities: Central Mediterranean; rather different from the other known
Allodanacaea
, it shows some relations (mainly in the aedeagal structure) with
D
.
gorditana
and the strictly Corsican
D
.
constantini
.
Notes.
This species has a really small range, where it is common or very common on flowers, even close to the seaside. Further investigations would be necessary to look for possible other species of
Allodanacaea
in the Nurra area (NW
Sardinia
) and to better understand the actual distribution of
D. nympha
and
D. gorditana
, both of which occur in the area with apparently non-overlapping ranges.
