: In the original description no type was chosen nor were inventory numbers for specimens provided, but measurements for

and the locality “Massailand” were given. Therefore ZMB 27026 (no. 1009) is regarded as the 
<typeStatus id="54CE9BD1E231FFC8AE2CFCE21AB1141D" box="[330,428,788,814]" pageId="19" pageNumber="20" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
(see also Fischer 1884: 371). The very general information about the 
<emphasis id="B901F961E231FFC8ABA5FCE21E48141D" box="[1219,1365,788,814]" italics="true" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">locus typicus</emphasis>
in the description “Massailand” was ascertained as Pangani (River Valley?) for the locality of the 
<typeStatus id="54CE9BD1E231FFC8ABECFCCE1FF11461" box="[1162,1260,824,850]" pageId="19" pageNumber="20" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
(Fischer 1884). Fischer collected the 
<typeStatus id="54CE9BD1E231FFC8AEE0FCAA1AF51445" box="[390,488,860,886]" pageId="19" pageNumber="20" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
in the Lower Pangani River Valley, but it is impossible to give an exact locality.
