Diagnosis. S. argentina differs from S. hirtitibia and S. nigrisquama sp. nov. by the yellow tibiae; from S. capribarba , S. paranaensis sp. nov. and S. albiseta by the absence of white long setae beard-like on gena; from S. inculta by the fronto-orbital plate narrow; and from S. boliviensis sp. nov. by the frontal triangle almost reaching the lunule. Redescription Head ( Fig. 10B ). Frontal vitta, fronto-orbital plate, face and parafacial brown; gena silvery pruinose. Frontal triangle silvery grey, almost reaching the lunule. Eye with small and sparse white cilia, distance between eyes 0.33 the maximum head-width. Antenna dark brown, inserted on above middle of eyes, postpedicel brown, about 1.5 times pedicel length. 4 frontal setae, all black; 1 proclinate orbital seta; 1 upper orbital seta; ocellar seta well developed; postocellar seta divergent, shorter than ocellar seta; inner vertical seta parallel and longer than ocellar seta; outer vertical seta divergent and shorter than inner vertical seta. Proboscis shiny dark brown. Palpus brown and filiform. Thorax ( Fig. 10A, C ). Acrostichal setae 3+5, hair-like; 6 anepisternal setae. Legs ( Fig. 10A ). Brown with tibiae and tarsi yellow. Claws and pulvilli reduced. Fore femur with a complete pd and pv rows of black and long setae. Fore tibia with 1 pv median seta; 1 pv apical seta. Mid femur with an a row of 6 medium and black setae; a v and pv rows complete of long setae; 1 p seta on apical half. Mid tibia with 1 p and ad median seta; 1 d preapical seta; 1 apical seta on pv , v and av. Hind femur with an ad and av complete rows of long setae; 3 a long setae on apical half; 1 av, ad, d and pd on apical half. Hind tibia a to p with many long setae, the 5 ad , 4 d and 3 pd stronger than others; 1 preapical setae on ad, d and pd ; 1 apical seta on av well developed. Abdomen . Light brown, silvery pruinose, with many long black setae on all tergites. Sternite 5 U-shaped, covered with many setae, mainly on apical half ( Fig. 3D ). Terminalia ( Fig. 3 E–F). Cercus longer than wide, apically medium bifurcate; hypandrium long tubular; phallapodeme curved on apical half and bigger than hypandrium; pregonite longer than postgonite, postgonite bare. Female ( Fig. 11 A–C). Similar to male, except for hind femur without many setae around all surfaces, only 3 ad and pd median long setae. Remarks. The holotype is not well preserved, and it was examined by photo. The additional material examined helped to confirm some characteristics, mainly from the legs that were lost in the holotype . Distribution. Argentina ( Neuquén ) and Brazil ( Distrito Federal , Minas Gerais , Paraná , Rio Grande do Sul ).
